The Earworm Effect

Music is how feelings sound like. So, here’s my playlist (and recurring earworm) over the last few weeks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I immensely do.

Title: Dati

Artist: Sam Concepcion, Tippy Dos Santos, Quest

Earworm Effect: This won the Philpop Music Fest 2013, and it’s not hard to explain why. Voices are pitch perfect. And it has a feel-good yet heart-warming groove and awww– effect. It’s written in Tagalog but nothing cheesy. Hats off to the composers!

Title: Sometimes That Happens

Artist: Ace Libre (of Never The Strangers)

Earworm Effect: Also from Philpop. Simple lyrics that connect; so easy to remember and get LSS-infected with. Ace has a unique voice, too.

Title: Try; True Love

Artist: P!nk

Earworm Effect: Try has the pop rock-ish vibe the singer is known for but the other song is feel-good, more relaxed, very light and she feels so in love I can almost hear it.

Title: Questions

Artist: Bamboo

Earworm Effect: Don’t ask me why.

Title: Hindi Mo Nadinig

Artist: Gloc9 ft Jay Durias (of South Border fame)

Earworm Effect: Anything Gloc9 does is something to look forward to and in this song, the Alalay ng Hari does not disappoint. Listening to the rap towards the end was tantamount to watching a horror flick…Well, at least for me.

What are you listening to?
